The intrepid band of SOC members who travelled all the way up to the Peak District had the chance to run on some interesting but tough terrain. Nothing like what we are used to here in the south. Plenty of rock features and some steep climbs on all courses.
We performed valiantly on the day but we were beaten into 9th place by some very strong opposition.
After a long campaign to recruit runners we managed to put together a team of just 29 SOC members! The minimum requirement is 25 to score, so we had limited our chances from the beginning. Then a late collection of injuries and withdrawals left us with a bare 25 able and willing to make the trip. Unfortunately we were left with 7 men on the Blue course with only 6 to count so we would only have 24 runners scoring for the club.
We had some great results with Tamsin Moran running up a class and topping our points return. However everyone in the team upped their game running for the club and I think the whole team deserves a mention.
