At the startResults are available on the Race Results website.

Well, what an event! We were expecting 80 or so and 185 of you turned up - and most welcome you all were! It did cause a bit of a car parking issue so I hope you all managed to get parked up without too much hassle.

Last night's heavy rain meant that Highland Water itself was a little higher than expected when we were placing controls this morning. But the level and speed of flow wasn't too high to affect any of the courses apart from Green. We decided not to shorten the Green course but did brief all Green course competitors about the crossing on the leg between controls 9 and 10. As it happened, the run-off from the hills during the morning caused the Water to come up by a couple of feet at the other (northern) end of the courses. Some of the later competitors needed to take care when crossing from West to East at the early stage of their course.

We received lots of compliments for Norman Wilson's courses and I'd like to thank him and Julia Loring, his able assistant (and nurse), for all the work they put into the event. I hope you all agree that Norman created an enjoyable set of courses, particularly as he is at the very early stages of his planning career! Routegadget is available so please do add your route as this will help Norman to analyse the courses from a competitor's viewpoint. Times have also been added to Splitsbrowser and the Race Results pages also include splits positions.

For these events to be a success we need permissions from the landowners and the help of a small army of volunteers. I'd like to thank the Forestry Commission for allowing us to hold the event and for their guidance regarding the area and the parking. Thanks also to the club members who gave up their time to help and assist on the day. Finally, a thank you to Allan and EMIT UK for loaning the EMIT touch-free system. I hope you all managed to use your tags ok and that you found the practice useful in the run-up to JK 2019 - EMIT touch-free will be in use for all four days.

The club's next event is the Wessex Night League Romsey on Thursday 13th December.
